Can You Sell a Cracked iPhone?

A cracked screen doesn't rule out a sale. It factors into the offer. Here's what to expect.

A spiderweb of cracks across your screen probably feels like the phone is worth nothing now, but that's rarely true. Here's what actually happens when you bring a damaged iPhone in, and what still affects the number.

Short answer: yes

ReDevice buys iPhones with cracked screens, back glass damage and other physical faults. See our broken iPhone page. Damaged devices are one of the more common things we buy, not an exception we make.

What affects the offer

The extent of the crack, whether the touch response still works, and whether the display shows other abnormalities (discolouration, dead pixels, lines) all factor into your estimated quote. A hairline crack in one corner with fully working touch is a very different offer to a shattered screen with dead zones.

Screen crack vs back glass crack: does it matter?

Yes, generally. Front screen damage affects usability more directly and tends to weigh more heavily on the offer than back glass damage, which is largely cosmetic. A phone with both will be assessed on the combined impact, not just added together.

What if the touch doesn't respond at all?

A non-responsive touch area or a screen that doesn't display anything still has resale value in its parts (battery, camera, chassis, logic board) even if the display itself is a write-off. Tell us this upfront on WhatsApp so the estimate reflects that from the start rather than surprising you at inspection.

What to do next

Describe the damage on WhatsApp (cracked screen, back glass, or both, and whether touch still responds) and we'll give you an estimated quote before you visit. The final offer is confirmed once we've physically inspected it.

This guide is general information, not a guarantee of value or outcome for your specific device. Your estimated quote and final offer depend on your device's actual condition.
